The program facilitates your learning with guided discovery and exploration. Your engagement with 23 Things @ ECU content can be a shallow or as deep as you would like it to be!

What is 23 Things?

23 Things is a self-paced, discovery learning program that has become an international training and development phenomenon. It is the ECU twist on the Library Learning 2.0 program developed by Helene Blowers at the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenberg County and adopted or adapted by many other libraries and organisations since then.  It has also been adapted from the 23 Things on a Stick program run by the Minnesota Library.

If this is “2.0″, what was “1.0″ and where will we be going with “3.0″?
We’ll let Futurist Gerd Leonhard explain the “point 0s” and what they mean in terms of the fundamental shifts which have happened in communication technologies– and how these shifts are continuing to happen around us.

(he talks quick too – be warned!)

What do we mean “self-paced”?
You will drive your own learning – the 2.0 World has application and effect on many levels. This program has been developed to assist you to explore the 2.0 World whether you are just dipping your toes into the water or you are a seasoned user.

What do we mean “guidelines and parameters for use”?
The program will give you some food for thought about potential issues and considerations in terms of using these technologies in social, personal, educational and professional environments.

Who can participate?

This program is open to all staff at Edith Cowan University. Experienced Web 2.0 users as well as novices and everyone in between are invited to join.

This is self-paced and self-directed learning program.
